Reset Lab Users had been an option within RX for reservation owners to use when customers and partners encountered issues accessing the HPOC through Parallels, Frame, and Ivanti solutions. These credentials could also access the Shared Move Source environment or utilize ESXi with certain Nutanix products (NDB and Calm).
The Reset Lab Users button only syncs the credentials with your reservation password if the automation failed to do so during refoundation and deployments to new reservations.
An issue within the automation resetting the user passwords at the start of each reservation has been identified and corrected. Resetting lab users is no longer necessary and is only a precautionary measure for administrators. You will no longer see this button inside your reservations.
Getting Customers and Partners into the HPOC Environment
Customers and Partners must use the Lab Users to access the HPOC Environment through VDI or VPN.
Single-node clusters receive 5 lab user credentials to log into VDI/VPN.
Multi-node clusters may receive up to 20 user credentials.
Note: Lab users (ex., PHX-POC###-User##@nutanixdc.local) should only be used to access the Shared Move Source and log into the VPN/VDI solutions, not clusters.
Once your customer or partner successfully logs into the VPN/VDI solutions, they may all access the cluster with the admin user ID and reservation password. When accessing Prisim Central, you can also use the AD users.
Nutanix Employees Accessing the HPOC
Nutanix employees on the corporate VPN can access their reserved cluster without logging into the HPOC using the corporate GlobalProtect VPN. However, you may use your Nutanixdc.local account to log into Parallels. Just be sure to disconnect from the corporate VPN before using Parallels. Once successfully logged in, open a browser to access the cluster using the admin user ID and reservation password.
What do you do when you encounter VPN/VDI issues?
If your users have issues accessing Parallels or connecting to GlobalProtect VPN, you can use the in-app support tool to submit a ticket or contact us in the #rx-and-hpoc Slack channel.
