Every Nutanix employee with permission to reserve HPOC hardware via RX has the ability to have a named nutanixdc.local account. Did you know you can use this nutanixdc.local account to log into VDI or VPN in any of the datacenters without having a reservation? You don't need reservation credentials to log into VDI or VPN. Try it out using the VDI application Parallels.
Make sure you've set a password for your local HPOC account. Or, if you've not used it in a while, reset your password. From within RX, click on your User Name and launch User Settings to manage your local HPOC account.
Open an Incognito window using Chrome and navigate to one of the Parallels datacenter URLs. And remember, when accessing the URLs, if you encounter a popup asking if you wish to allow text and images to be seen on the clipboard, click Allow.

If you have trouble accessing the URL or logging into the datacenter check the Troubleshooting Tips.
Using Copy and Paste
Parallels offers a remote clipboard on the VDI desktop for copying and pasting between computers. When accessing the URLs, if you encounter a popup asking if you wish to allow text and images to be seen on the clipboard, click Allow.
Use the menu options on the right of the Desktop to resize the window, download and upload to the remote computer, access keyboard functions, and open the clipboard tool. Use the Remote Clipboard to paste text from your pc, then copy it into the VDI desktop.
Sign Out
When you're done with the VDI session, sign out of the desktop and then sign out of Parallels.
Troubleshooting Tips
VDI Access
Make sure you are not currently using another VPN or VDI service.
Chrome is the browser of choice as it has been tested and used heavily with Parallels.
If you have issues accessing the VDI URL provided, try using an Incognito window in Chrome. Cookies from a previous session may be preventing your access.
When using nutanixdc.local accounts, if you find Parallels wants you to reset your password, go back to RX Reservation Management and update your password and try again in a fresh Incognito window.
Size your screen before logging into the VDI service. Resizing after you log in may force another log-on attempt quickly, leading to a lockout for your credentials.
When a popup window asks if you wish to see text or images copied to the clipboard, click Allow.
Using Bootcamp Guides in VDI
Use your mouse to copy and paste within the VDI environment. Keyboard options such as highlighting code blocks and using Ctl + C and Ctl + V are known issues. Take advantage of any Copy icons within any of the Nutanix lab guides.
Use the navigation links at the bottom of each page to move forward seamlessly. The navigation bar will jump you into each section, but not necessarily the next page.
