Sometimes you need to export data into a spreadsheet to form your own calculations and data sets. Helper export functions save you from having to create custom reports in Salesforce. Using these CSV files is an easy way to gather data and generate your own basic reports from the following areas:
Accounts
Opportunities
Product Adoptions
Contacts
Implementation Planning Report components
Building upon our custom view feature, the data you display will be the results exported within the CSV download. Before you begin to export, you'll want to make sure to display the correct view or filter the data set. To learn more, read Customizing Views and Saving Filters.
How to Export
Using My Accounts as an example, let's walk through the steps to export a CSV file.
Navigate to My Accounts.
Select or create your custom view; the export will only include items you see on screen. If you need additional filters - click Filter Options under the Options menu to the right of the filter bar.β
βOnce you have the appropriate data displayed, click the Options menu and choose Export CSV to begin the download process.β
